晩秋の紅葉トンネル／平岡樹芸センター (067)

赤いモミジの並木に、雪が降り積もったあと。枝の一本一本に白がのり、その上でまだ葉は赤いままです。
足もとの雪には、落ちたばかりの赤い葉が散らばっています。紅葉が終わらないうちに雪が来た、短いあいだだけの景色です。
紅葉のトンネルのこと
- 札幌市清田区にある市立の樹木園、平岡樹芸センターの並木です。1984年開園、愛称は「みどりーむ」。入園は無料です。
- 約800mの園路にモミジが約100本。頭の上で枝が閉じるので「紅葉のトンネル」と呼ばれています。
- 見頃は例年10月下旬から11月上旬。この写真のように、葉が落ちきる前に雪が来る年もあります。
- 開園は4月下旬から11月上旬まで。約2.9ヘクタールの敷地に3,000本ほどの樹木が植えられています。

Snow has fallen on an avenue of red maples. It is lying along every branch, and above it the leaves are still red. Fresh red leaves are scattered across the white ground.
This is the maple tunnel at the Hiraoka Arboretum in Sapporo — around a hundred maples along 800m of path, with the branches closing overhead. The colour usually peaks from late October into early November, and in some years the snow arrives before the leaves have finished falling. This is one of those years, and it lasts only a few days.
